Dylan Alway (“Coach Alway”)

Role: Defensive Line Coach | C-Team Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator | JV Defensive Coordinator

Background & Experience:
Coach Alway is a 2018 graduate of Puyallup High School and holds a B.A. in Criminal Law and Justice from Central Washington University. He began coaching with Puyallup in 2019 as a volunteer and has been on staff for six years. His roles have included Assistant Defensive Line Coach and C-Team OL/DL Coach (2020–2023), and he currently serves as Varsity Defensive Line Coach, C-Team Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator, and JV Defensive Coordinator. He also coaches varsity track & field and girls flag football.

Coaching Philosophy:
“Football is a simple game—it’s just not easy.” Coach Alway brings energy, passion, and high expectations to his players. He believes in pushing athletes to reach their full potential without asking too much or too little, creating a culture built on effort, accountability, and love for the game.

Part of multiple league championship teams and state playoff appearances
No losing seasons during tenure on staff
League Champion as a player (2018)
Fundraised over $5,000 through team initiatives
Coached two Top-10 finishers at the 4A State Track & Field Championships

Personal Info:
I enjoy skiing during the winter and fishing during the summer. One of my biggest hobbies outside of football is collecting cards I have a decent collection worth over 10K.
