Steven Akuffo, MS, LMHC

Defensive Analyst / Linebackers / Mental Health Coach

I have more than 30 years of coaching experience at the youth and high school levels, building a reputation for discipline, accountability, player development, and mentorship. My high school coaching experience includes stops at Gibbs High School (FL), Foss High School (WA), Todd Beamer High School (WA), and Bethel High School (WA).

I am known for my detail-oriented approach and high standards. I teach athletes to focus on the process rather than external distractions such as championships or accolades. My philosophy emphasizes mastering the moment—whether it is a single play, practice rep, or film session—while demanding accountability, discipline, and execution in every aspect of the program. I firmly believe that high achievement requires consistency, attention to detail, and a commitment to eliminating mediocrity.

I also place a strong emphasis on growth through adversity, teaching players to view mistakes as immediate learning opportunities to improve performance and build resilience both on and off the field.

Key Achievements & Involvement

· Coached on 4 state playoff teams

· Directly coached 14 student-athletes who went on to sign with Division I programs

· Winner of 10 youth football championships

Something Personal

Outside of football, I am a licensed clinical psychotherapist specializing in adolescent psychology and behavioral health. My wife Jawana and I are proud parents of four children.
